Understand Your Body Type

It is very important to understand your body. The most important thing that I stress to my clients is to start focusing on being aware of their body—how it works, what it likes, what it doesn’t like, what makes it low energy, what makes it high energy, etc. When you are craving sweets or other foods, try to figure out why. Are you anxious, upset, or emotional? Are you on your menstrual cycle?

Start making those connections. If you can understand how your “machine” works then you can work towards keeping it working efficiently. However, when you don’t know, you will try anything. It is like throwing darts in the dark. You don’t know how to get to the goal. You can’t figure out what direction or where to aim. So, you try anything.

Whatever someone recommends, you will try it. Every infomercial that sounds good, you will try it. Every new diet, everything someone recommends—it all sounds like something to try. However, once you begin to KNOW your body, you can weed through all the “noise” that you hear on TV, in the gym, on billboards, from all the experts, etc. and focus on giving your body what it really needs.
